- Complimentary Therapies

Treatment interventions that fall outside the domain of  ‘conventional medicine’ will often come under one of the umbrella headings Complimentary, Alternative or Holistic Therapy. These broad titles cover a signficant array of treatments differing  from the more well known and respected (Osteopathy, Chiropractic, Acupuncture) to the more unique!

This is a difficult section to write because we must be careful what we promote, keeping the safety and best interests of our clients as a foremost concern. Some of the more well know interventions have their own sections on this site and can be found in the menu to the left, the only exception being Acupuncture. Many of our clients do benefit from this ancient treatment but for most of our patients it is predominantly applied by professionals such as physiotherapists as an adjunctive to their more conventional treatments. That said, the new governmental guidelines relaesed in May 2009 champion its application so we will probably dedicate a page to it very soon!

For those interventions that are a little more ‘out there’ you must draw your own conclusions as to whether it works for you as an individual. The most important factor is your own safety and if this is in doubt then steer clear. I have included this link  as it seems to give a comprehensive guide to the wide variety of complimentary or alternative therapies with a brief decription of each however, we cannot be responsible for the accuracy of the content. Where possible, and if they exhist, you should contact the relevant govening body with any specific questions or to enquire as to the qualifications of individual practitioners within their field.
